Antimony, 1992

Materials: plants (weeds), pigment, chain, timber

Methods: Excavation of concrete slab, installation of swing, arrangement of gathered plants.

An interactive installation that invited viewers to play on a swing over a hole in the floor. Swinging over the hole in the ground gave a slightly anxiety provoking feeling. In addition, the hole gave the impression of time passing, as if the hole was worn away by many feet repeatedly swinging over the area. Exhibited in an installation space at Sydney College of the Arts during my second year of art school.
